You had given me this link back during one of our first convos. Got buried in bookmarks but just found it. This was good, very well laid out. And to answer the question, yes, all are complicit, some more directly than others, but all are nonetheless for their (our) apathy to the slow bureaucratic creep that could ever lead to this all too possibly real scenario.

Agreed. And thank you for reading and for the supportive comments. When I first wrote this, it didn’t get much notice!

Its a shame it didn't, its definitely something that could get people to actually think this through the way its laid out.

Thank you. It occurred to me while driving back from Florida, listening to “Atlas Shrugged” on audiobook. Fiction can be a really great teaching tool, if done right.

I would enjoy writing more if it…

Seems like the perfect sized book for drive up the eastern seaboard. Sadly I must admit, only ever watched the movies. Which I did enjoy, but like all books made into film, its my understanding they 'ruined' it to some degree.

You mean those movies that came out in the last 20 years, each time changing the cast, and each time declining in budget?

Oh goodness—this is not even one of those situations where the book is better. In this case, it's a whole different world. The book is must-read.

If you ever decide to do the audiobook, find the version narrated by Christopher Hurt. He really brings it to life! (And yeah, it requires an interstate drive to listen to. I will say that Galt's speech, when read aloud, takes too long. But it's still worth it. I like audiobooks a lot.)

damn, so it really is that bad by comparison? Kinda what I've heard but never know from anonymous comments online. I will def check out that one. I prefer to read an actual book, but I've found some books, particularly very long ones, work much better for me when listening.
