There are those who live within their means; their expectations and intentions are based upon what they can earn and acquire through their efforts, the application of their minds and muscles to solving the questions of survival. Their are those who think they can survive off of someone else's efforts, by force or guile.

This "democracy" is supportive of the Iatter: the former don't need the "government " to make their way in the world.

So many great points here. The ballot is the “slave suggestion box.” Also, providing homes at other people’s expense creates a resentful “giver” and an unappreciated receiver. The “giver” did not provide care out of free will, it was forced and taken. The receiver acquired the generosity via a system in place. Therefore the receiver becomes not only used to necessities being handed to them but also never fully appreciates or is warmed by the generosity of another human being. The “generosity” is systematized.

The construct of the "social contract" -- implicit in Hobbes' Leviathan and famously given its name by Rousseau, of course-- has always been a myth, or really more of a lie. A way to give people the illusion that they are ruled by their consent.

"Man is born free; and everywhere he is in chains. One thinks himself the master of others, and still remains a greater slave than they. How did this change come about? ...view of Hobbes [that] ...the human species is divided into so many herds of cattle, each with its ruler, who keeps guard over them for the purpose of devouring them... As a shepherd the natural superior to the sheep of his flock, so the shepherds of men, i.e., their rulers, are naturally superior to the peoples under them."

Jean-Jacques Rousseau, The Social Contract (1762)

Agree , in general ,that things should not be forced on people , that is the real problem with any system, no matter which. It could be the best system ever invented but if it uses force to implement itself then it's no better than any other in the end ..the negative consequences might take longer to be very obvious but it will eventually lead to disaster . I wonder what would happen if people were given a genuine choice to opt in or out of a system... If there were land set aside that wasn't part of any system where people could do as they liked..eventually a system would be born there too , of some kind, because human, same as animal ,nature will cause issues to arise for which they will need to find solutions ( eg 2 different people want to build on the same bit of land ) .

The more healthy people are in themselves in body and mind the more they are able to make decisions that benefit not just themselves but everyone affected as much as possible because they are aware that a single person cannot be truely healthy in a sick society. The healthier the individual the more in tune they are with their intuition which helps them find answers to what is needed in the moment on a case by case level. The more people like this the less need for rules and regulations which can't accommodate nuances of situations.

Taxing people is indeed a violation ,however the fact that most land is now owned makes it pretty much impossible to just find a suitable piece of land and build a house with locally sourced materials and be self sufficient on without first purchasing and thereby tying oneself into all sorts of violations to the self and others too . ...

Ok people, I have to put my two cents worth in here if you are viewing humanity from the perspective of the individual, and that is your only lens for assessing slavery, freedom, and choice, then correct democracy and government is entirely a failure at reflecting peoples own use of choice.

However, if you use the lens dividing up human choice over a pie of individual, family, community, institutional, and the Devine, then you may have a differnt conclution. there are five modules of decision making making a total called huamnity. I was born into a family setup where we have a family business, I didn't choose it, however, it is now an area of my personal expertise. Was I born into privilege? or was I born into a situation that had been constructed by my forebearers? I stand on other's choices, for good and bad we live within the pattern of the sum of our people group's choices on the five layers of humanity.

That being said, for sure we have massively *&($ed up stuff in our governments, I do choose to believe we are working out how humanity can exist on better levels. (Optamistic)

I'm saying this as a person actively designing new frameworks for humanity, so far from content as things are and the forms governance atm.

You would think it would be universally understood that the only LEGITAMATE reason for any government is to protect the life, liberty and property of the people who FORM the government. Reading the Declaration of Independence makes it quite clear as well as reason, logic and common sense. What I cannot do to my neighbor cannot be delegated to someone in government to do. When the Federal, State and local governments violate these just principles they violate natural law which is understood by most everyone who can think. However, due to the nature of man these governments are continually throughout history used to plunder the common man because it is easier for those in the government to plunder than to actually labor and produce something or offer a viable service. We in the United States like to consider ourselves free, and in the process even though the government takes up to 40% of our labor per year, we don't call it slavery, we call it freedom. Though the government may demand a fee from you so that you can add an addition onto your property, we don't call that slavery, we call it freedom. Though the government may decide what size magazine or length barrel or style of rifle or pistol you may own, we don't call that slavery, we call it freedom. When the government decides how much water can be flushed through your toilet, we don't call that slavery, we call that freedom. When the government can tell us who we can or can not marry, who we can or can not associate with we don't call that slavery, we call that freedom. When they can decide who to invade and use us as their soldiers by utilizing a draft, we don't call that slavery, we call that freedom. At birth we are issued birth certificates that are utilized in interstate commerce as surety against a debt we had nothing to do with and they issue us serial numbers at birth, AKA Social Security numbers, but we don't call that slavery, we call that freedom. I LOVE BEING FREE! What would it be like to be a SLAVE? Oh, that's right, you have to have VISIBLE chains to be a slave. Invisible ones don't count. As we repeat the mantra of the caged parrot, I'm free, I'm free, we must convince ourselves that our captors have our best interest in mind. As they always have throughout history. Yea, right. Add to the list of all the things we call FREEDOM that are in reality SLAVERY to our minds, bodies and souls in the comments below. WHEN THE GOVERNMENT VIOLATES THE LAW, THERE IS NO MORE LAW, JUST A FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL. ~Courageous Lion

The law perverted! And the police powers of the state perverted along with it! The law, I say, not only turned from its proper purpose but made to follow an entirely contrary purpose! The law become the weapon of every kind of greed! Instead of checking crime, the law itself guilty of the evils it is supposed to punish!

If this is true, it is a serious fact, and moral duty requires me to call attention of my fellow citizens to it. ~ Bastiat

Ah that the people would only understand that they have been mind fucked to the point where they "believe" that they have a choice. The reality of it all is that we as a world are COMMUNIST, not democratic. But COMMUNIST. https://www.courageouslion.us/p/the-law-or-the-communist-manifesto

Good post Christopher. Oh that more would wake up to the fact.

I think of the rant that George Carlin made once....

But there’s a reason. There’s a reason. There’s a reason for this, there’s a reason education SUCKS, and it’s the same reason it will never, ever, EVER be fixed.

It’s never going to get any better, don’t look for it, be happy with what you’ve got.

Because the owners, the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners now, the BIG owners! The Wealthy… the REAL owners! The big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions.

Forget the politicians. They are irrelevant. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice! You have OWNERS! They OWN YOU. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought, and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls.

They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I'll tell you what they don’t want:

They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. that's against their interests.

That's right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table and think about how badly they’re getting f&$#%d by a system that threw them overboard 30 f&@&@%$g years ago. They don’t want that!

You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork. And just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shitty jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you sooner or later cause they own this f@&@%g place! (You’ll own nothing and be happy-World Economic Forum) It's a big club, and you ain’t in it! You, and I, are not in the big club. ~George Carlin

Christopher, I agree with most of what you wrote. I've been thinking about this for a long time now, taxation is violence, anyone can come to this conclusion if he out some thought into it.

Perhaps I was indoctrinated too much and can't see it through but there is an issue I can't solve in my mind, and the issue is social security.

My daughter was born with a severe heart condition and thanks to NHS she survived and is a beautiful teenager now. My point is that if there was no NHS we would never been able to pay for the operations she had.

This is the dilemma I can't solve.

Perhaps I am afraid of the Transitional period from so-called democracy to a free society of cooperation and voluntary agreements between people.

Anarchism is an alternative to the classically liberal bourgeois state. But in such a system, how would you defend innocent people against violent criminals? "If men were angels, we won't need government" (James Madison).

I was asked to define God Here it is.

We hold these truths to be self evident.

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to

(1) dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and

(2) to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should

(3) declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

Did you recognize it?

This is not play pretend anymore. This is Evil and not evil. 1/2 bad is not evil. This equates to an oath starting at the Sheriff level. A confrontation of 4 people in a Court Assembled, will see and hear the sheriff take a lawful oath to the proper Constitutions, a de jure government with God included. We do not have law we have a substitute. The mark of the slave. As an example Donald John Trump broke his oath twice! Bump stock and red flag signed them both. Pragmatic prostitute, but just a little bit. Then we got USMCA and the JBS did a side by side comparison with NAFTA. Trump lied Nafta is better fo US. The he brought us Warp Speed and Q says that ok. When you break your sacred oath you have no honor and are not fit for a position of trust. MKUltra is what "they" do and only 16.25% of the population is smart enough to figure it out.
