I was with my Dad, who was about 70 or so at the time, at his attorneys some years ago and the attorney for the other side, who was a big and unkept man, spoke down to my Dad and my Dad reached across the table pulled him up with one hand and slapped him hard across the face and the guy flew back and hit the wall. Our attorney crawled up in the fetal position to protect himself. I went over to the attorney who got slapped and helped him to his feet and he charged out of the room. My Dad had not a care in the world and when I challenged him on he said: "That &*# Bastard thinks he can say anything and he'll get away with it because he is protected by society". I said to my Dad: "He'll go report you to the police and then you'll have to deal with all that mess". And his answer was: "He does not have the *alls to". He was right that attorney recused himself from the case and we never heard from the police or him again. This is one of dozens of stories I lived through. Not exaggerated at all but actually cleaned up for polite company.
Thinking about it I believe many people are so enamored with Mafia and Western movies and such, including Yellowstone and its spinoffs, because it demonstrates that the "good" guys (their not always good) can buck the System, and especially those who hide behind and in it, and win.

It raises the specter of abortion, nonconsensual procedures in childhood, ex ante denial of access/opportunities, and other such preemptive actions. Yet not everyone who is structurally psychopathic becomes a problem for others. (Though granted, many do.)
Second, though, what is the best course? Create tests to exclude psychopaths from power, or end the phenomenon of involuntary, inescapable power (to which psychos re attracted, and by which psychos are made).
I think you know my answer 😁 But I also think my answer avoids the thorny ethical thicket of neurological testing for positions of (involuntary) authority. Let’s just do away involuntary authority instead!
What about the possibility of slowly building a parallel world and growing in strength over the next 100 years, to the point where we can hold our own?
Building a parallel system, will become increasingly difficult with an encroaching and increasingly hostile state “cracking down on independant communities”.

Some food for thought: They’re strong, but not invincible. Control is dependent on a lot of things, and things don’t always go as planned for the overlords. The economic order is fragile. There are black swans. Food must still be produced. Supply chains are highly interdependent. And people don’t want to be enslaved. And as you say, there are a lot of us out here, and if we actually decide to freak out and truly resist, there’s not a lot they can do. A lot of damage can be done by one running man in the night.

—Build a distributed “nation” of people, anywhere in the world, whose unifying factor is the understanding that we are not slaves in need of masters—people who fiercely desire their own sovereign independence as individual human persons (and who want it for their fellows who want the same. —But then, we play it smart. We don’t repeat the mistakes of the past and launch one more bloody revolution. We don’t try to impose our vision on “the system” or on anyone else. We espouse a new paradigm: that everyone does not need to live under the same system. (Just like everyone does not need to attend the same church.) We make it clear that we are not trying to impose anything on anyone who does not want it.
—Then we build. In the cracks. Opt out anywhere we can. Start building parallel/alternative institutions, networks, systems. It’s a long game.
—We grow in numbers. We grow in strength. We grow in resources. We grow in de facto independence.
—At first, we simply state that any and all involuntary authority imposed upon us is illegitimate. But we do not resist it. We comply simply because they have superior force and a “legal” monopoly of violence. First we tell that to ourselves. Then to them. But we play it smart. It’s a long game.
—Eventually, we will be stronger. We can resist. Litigate. Negotiate here and there. Try to move from de facto independence to small measures of de jure independence. Even though we do not recognize the legitimacy of their control, we play it smart and do what we can. Long game.
—Meanwhile, we are still growing. We have encouraged the creation of our own market solutions: private security and justice. Maybe a small town goes bankrupt and Acme Security and Aggression Insurance will be there to help. But even if not, WE start using those kinds of solutions. A parallel world is growing.
—Maybe we can be strong enough to develop our own credit unions, financial instruments, currency. Schools. Medical facilities.
—In one hundred years, what will we be? A separate society? Have they crushed us? CAN they crush us if we’ve been building slowly, “legally”?
Can they crush us if we’re everywhere? It would be like a power saying, “We are going to crush everyone throughout the world who is of Italian descent.” How are they going to do that?
Then, one day, we simply declare independence. And there’s not $hit they can do about it.

A dark path, current solutions lead to, quite a conundrum.
Street justice with a blue line blind eye, used to be the way.

I desire to foment cooperation that creates private wealth, and its retention by those who create it. It’s funny, I just started working on an article for publication down the road. The gist is that billionaires COULD be using their resources to start building the new world, but they’re stuck in the old. Musk starting a stupid political party is the perfect example.
