A whole while ago one of the cast said "They Live" the film by John Carpenter is a documentary.
One of our other subscribers says THEY = The Elites Exploiting You.
I have been saying for years that "They Live" is required viewing for a modern education—a perfect allegory for what is really going on.
I think we should try to shift "elite" to "effete" because they aren't really better than us and effete includes the meaning "no longer effective."
Yeah, I like to put things like "elites," "overlords," and "betters" in scare quotes.

Well said. It's natural to idolize, but ultimately harmful.
Great song choice, and a really important message about rejecting the control of the unnamed, omniscient 'they.'
