Irish Teacher's Bank Account Frozen for 'Misgendering' Student
Theft under color of authority
Here’s the news, as described on the victim’s X account:
The bank account of teacher Enoch Burke has been frozen by the Irish Government after he refused to affirm transgender ideology in his school and address a child with they/them pronouns.
Enoch Burke’s salary, which he earns as a teacher at Wilson’s Hospital School, has also been stopped.
Enoch Burke attempted to withdraw money from his Bank of Ireland account this morning but was unable to access the account.
There is over €40,000 in this account, the hard-earned savings of many years. This money has now been frozen by the Irish Government and Courts, with the intention of seizing it next week, in an unprecedented and utterly illegal move.
Enoch Burke upheld the Christian ethos of his school, and was jailed as a result. He now faces the robbery of his livelihood.
If the Church had not betrayed him by their treacherous silence, this saga would never have happened. The silence of the Church on this matter is a disgrace.
Here is Burke providing more details:
And here is more from the Daily Mail.
You could certainly look at this in conventional partisan terms. It is indeed another example of how the left are, on a surface-level at least, in charge throughout much of the West…with free rein to be as crazy and corrupt as they wish.
You would be right to look at it that way, at least in part…
Over 100 years ago, Western Marxists Antonio Gramsci, Georg Lukacs, and others broke with revolutionary socialist orthodoxy and decided that the key to defeating the West and instantiating leftism was an incremental “war of position”—taking over slowly, through a “long march through the institutions.” A century later, we see their success.
However, there is another level on which to analyze this situation, and it is arguably even worse. This is theft, undertaken under color of authority.
How can you look at it any other way? Will you argue that Burke refused to pay fines, and so now government officials are just doing what they are supposed to ‘under the law’? Will you argue that this is ‘democracy’ at work? That ‘the people’ voted for their representatives, and therefore this is just ‘the will of the people’ in action? The ‘consent of the governed’—is that where you want to hang your hat?
How do you defend this? I would like to hear.
And speaking of defense, we are allowed to defend ourselves from ‘common’ thieves, but when they call themselves ‘officials’ of government, not only are we not allowed to defend ourselves, but we will be jailed, maimed, or murdered if we do.
So while you’re at it—defend that if you can.
I wonder how Rosie O Donnell feels about this? Ireland is her new home since Diktator Trump has taken over America.
I wonder how long us prols are going to tolerate this. I cannot imagine the frustration teacher is experiencing? Just reading this story makes me feel like I can’t breathe.
Even worse than govt-forbidden speech is govt-*compelled* speech.
As Jordan Peterson has said about Canada's similar Big-Brother initiatives (paraphrased): <<I won't do it. If they fine me, I won't pay it. If they imprison me, I'll go on a hunger strike. I won't do it!>>
This madness may soon have lived its course -- I'm almost 78 -- I hope I live long enough to see this hideous nonsense crash and burn.
