"Woke" is not anything separate or distinct. It is just the latest name for latest iteration of leftism. It is cancerous, late-stage leftism of a particular character, but it is just one more incarnation in their endless horror movie of monsters that just won't die.

Yes, I read that when it first came out. One of your best articles but I didn't make the Woke connection. The communists are snakes with a sinister plan but the Woke are self-righteous self-loving idiots desperate for power.
Frankly, it is really frustrating to me that people do not recognize this as just a continuation of leftism by another name. It is dangerous not to see the continuous thread.

We all understand that they're all leftists. They're called useful idiots and fellow travelers. They're on the same highway but some are in the trunk of a Yugo, others are on a Greyhound bus, and the ones behind the scenes calling the shots are in limos. Gen Z might be a part of the continuation but they're not even remotely aware of it. The limo riders are the ones that have been around since 1856. the Yugo and the Bus are the group-thinking snowflakes who have been brainwashed.
And yeah, people get that they're on the left, but I also hear people talking about "woke" as if it's a mushroom that sprang up overnight, as opposed to the tip of a 200-year-old spear. Or offering definitions of it only that only reference itself and its characteristics. IMO, any definition MUST also mention, however briefly, the historical continuance.

Why not simply look at woke for what it is, part of the never ending evolution of modern word warfare. Or maybe you are. I remember when it looked like the Regan Revolution was going to make liberalism obsolete. After he carried 49 states no one wanted to call themselves liberal anymore. Crickets everywhere. Then all of a sudden I wake up one day and I hear about a new political group who call themselves Progressives. We don’t have common core math anymore because it’s racist. We now have woke math. What you might have missed, or underestimated, is how absolutely brilliant the marxists are at perverting the Kings English, re-defining terms, and inventing new words. Look at how they’re describing what’s going on down in Florida. So most of us, I think, really do get it. The early marxists had their propaganda leaflets and today they have google, and I can’t begin to tell you what I think about google. The people behind woke are the same but woke, itself, really is a genuinely new battlefield tactic that many on the right don’t know how to deal with. It’s is the hypersonic missile of the 21st Center, and it’s target is Western Civilization.
Interesting. Everyone in the town seemed clean, intelligent, and well educated. In other words, civilized. And not a single democrat in sight. Would never work in this country.
Unfortunately, I think the UK are generally further down the road to serfdom than we are. They are about to get herded into movement-restricted cities. And they have no ability to defend themselves.
In retrospect, now that I think about it, maybe it is more convoluted and complicated than I thought. Maybe the new Marxist movement is an octopus and the head is the remnants of the Rajneesh “Orange People” who never went anywhere. They and their ‘cousins’ are now the college professors, corporate leaders, teachers, drag queens, and Deep State bureaucrats who are the elite seeing eye dogs leading the gullible clueless who refuse to see truth. So maybe Woke really is new on it’s own accord and not invented by the elites. Maybe it’s just one of the octopus arms that can be explained as ‘spontaneous generation’ of new life or a metastasized cancer. And that’s just one of the arms. Antifa is an arm as is BLM. I don’t think in a million years the marxists ever thought they could convince anyone that a man could have a baby but boy is that ever working out for them. Hollywood is an arm. Each arm has it’s own agenda but they all serve the same Master. Godspeed you are right about the left destroying itself.
