I enjoyed reading the article you linked to in your note and I love what you did and write about here. The cozy energy is enticing...the rain...the circle of humans, together, held...and the warm fire. The curtains are even better. It reminds me of building blanket forts and how great those felt as well. What a great project in so many ways.

❤️ Do you think one day you will make something similar in El Salvador?

Perhaps. I went to look at the almost-mine land in Mizata yesterday and set up some meetings in person with a few people in the community. There is a couple there...the young man likes to build in an organic, more natural way. There are two architects here in El Zonte who used to work in the film industry in Canada and I have seen some of their work. They don't have time to build, just to design. So, suddenly, I may have both available--creative designers and an architect if the timing is right and we all resonate with one another. And I have to keep feeling my way forward. I like El Zonte. My new property is 40 minutes away in a small town... I will be in Costa Rica in Jan where I will look at some more places people have built. There is one with a golden-mean spiral roof. I am hoping I can connect with the owners and get a tour. I like the feeling of round places. Something in me always wanted to live in a hobbit house with lots of windows. And for now, it is so nice to simply be in a hotel room. There is such simplicity in it. I know it will not last nor is it meant to be "my life". But it is nice. For now. I will keep you updated.

Very cool. I always have an interest in building methods—their pros and cons. I like bermed with passive solar, etc. Straw bale is interesting and allows for creativity, but it does not last and I want something I could leave to my child.

If you take any pictures you are allowed to share, please do!

Fabulous Christopher! 💗 Your son is fortunate to have a living Daddy who took time and effort and accepted help from others to build a charming dwelling for intimate time with family and friends and occasionally to be alone with nature and one’s thoughts. A project of family bonding! Has Brad come over to perform magic? It's an excellent place for an evening of close-up entertainment! 🪄 ✨💫✨

And I feel fortunate to be a still-living daddy!

We no longer live anywhere near Brad, but that’d be great! We could rename it the Parlor of Prestidigitation for the night.

Wait, no, that name is taken. How about the Gazebo of Amazement?

Perfect! Definitely a place for magic!

It helped cement a group of friendships at a critical time. That alone made it worth it…but it is also wonderful in many other ways. I am grateful.

Beautiful. ✨ It’s amazing how nurturing it can be to simply create a space for gathering. Coffeehouses, pubs or gazebos- fertile gardens for connectivity and sharing. Good on ya!!

I want to spend more time with others. I feel like I am not getting enough of that. Perhaps that is the case for many of us.

I agree. I think many are depleted of this vital nutrient. It's the struggle of our time! We are finding our kindred spirits through a screen but there are no hugs to be exchanged or twinkling eyes to behold.
