Dude! Your cool factor just shot off the chart watching your wife shred on that guitar! "She will non- compliant your face" made me laugh so hard. These young leftist looneys don't even know what a real woman is. It's obvious you do, being married to a badass one!
PTSD caused by early childhood trauma. The Machine knows how to identify and groom them from youth on. They ARE victims, just not in the way they claim to be.
Fashioned Brit labour union types, were lazy but wanted lots. Lazy and greedy. They actually made sense. “I want more and I don’t want to work harder. My option is to demand more collectively”. It is logical and rational. The modern left is illogical.
This got me thinking: I wonder to what degree some such traits are intrinsically linked to a "leftist" mentality, and to what degree some of those qualities are disadvantageous within our current system and thus drive people to "leftism" as a result of their inability to successfully integrate into the established system and/or the established system's unwillingness to accept, acknowledge, or accomodate them?
For example, are they naturally miserable, or are they miserable because their lives are subpar vis-a-vis others in their supposed cohort? Do some of the traits lead to the others because of socio-cultural factors, e.g., less attractive (or wealthy) > less likely to find a satisfactory sexual relationships (or even maintain standards of living, or other lower Maslow Needs) > less likely to be happy > less likely to be happy in or supporting a system that seems, to them at least, to have nothing to offer them while the same system rewards others, and so on. That is to say, in part at least, is "leftism" an objective ideology or cluster of traits and perspectives, or is it a relative ideological position with regard to an established, entrenched societal structure, generated in opposition to, or resultant from expulsion/exclusion from, said structure?
Excellent inquiry. I am just about to leave on a nine-day trip, so I cannot answer properly.
My suspicion, briefly, is that people who have these problems are more likely to be drawn to leftism.
The zeitgeist of the Enlightenment was to end POLITICAL inequality. But Rousseau and the French saw that through a glass darkly and added MATERIAL inequality. Ever since then, the ideology has been more attractive to people with all these personality traits. Only a little bit more so at first, but since it is an ideology of envy, it attracted the envious. And then it slowly metastasized. The ideology attracts worse people, those worse people worsen the ideology, and so on. Now it's a neurotic, histrionic shitshow of people who, in the aggregate, are more angry, bitter, envious, androgynous, unattractive, Cluster B, etc. (I don't have time to nuance this comment with all sorts of disclaimers and caveats, so I'll just leave it there.)
You left out, "more likely to suffer from mental illness."
Lower in sexual dimorphism is always going to make straight people less happy. I would be less happy if my GF looked like a guy. She would would be less happy if I looked girly. If both these happened, I'd smile less and so would she. I'd probably go crazy too.
Yep, it’s a toxic soup. And thank you for the reminder about mental illness. Did I not see something about a study showing them to be more likely to be cluster B?
I have a several stories of authoritarian types that have such negative effects on people around them and the names I’ve called them, some in a passive aggressive way to their face. Here is a good one.
I have a drilled well at my house that was installed in 1986, it supplies all of the water needed here. About 10 years ago the town drew a line through the middle of a street behind my house that runs parallel with my street. They said anyone that lives on my side of their line can no longer drill a well but it’s fine to drill a well on the opposite side of their arbitrary line away from my house. Although my well is grandfathered in, I had a real problem with this line and the restrictions put on my neighbors. At the time a friend who happened to live on my side of the towns new line had hired a well company to install a well at his house and he ended up having to cancel it.
So I went to speak to Kenny the building inspector. I’ve know Kenny since kindergarten and used to stick up for him when kids wanted to beat him up because he was a small kid. Anyways, I asked Kenny why my neighbors could no longer drill a well and use water from the ground that they own? Kenny said our neighborhood is in the Neponset River Valley and the town has wells, many miles away, but wells here may affect their wells. I told Kenny that well rights go back to the Magna Carta and land rights in America adopted the same idea that people have the right to extract potable water from the ground and use it as they freely want too. He first asked me “what’s is the Magna Carta”? Then he went on to say it’s for the good of the whole. We are a community and can’t let individual people and their properties draw water from the town wells. I asked him, “so it’s for the good of the collective?. That sounds like communist speak”. He looked at me confused and said the rule is not going to be changed and why do you care you have a well. I said I care because you are taking property rights away from my neighbors without compensating them.
This is why I have to get the f-ck out of this town, and this state. This is just one of hundreds of infringements the communists in Massachusetts place on us. Speak freely Christopher while we still can. J.Goodrich
Years ago I took the real estate coarse and they described how from each corner of your property you own everything all the way to the center of the earth in a line. Everything including water is your property. This is the idea that the water there is yours. William what is the reason for restricting wells in British Columbia?
Control, really. But they have so many rules it can cost $250,000 to have a well. Manganese content is the latest. Wells people have been using for decades have apparently slightly elevated manganese levels. Elevated only because they changed allowable levels
Normally, I don't bother. But I thought that a response to this particular one would be instructive and entertaining for you and the rest of my lovelies!
I have never found you to be offensive and you always take the time to politely disagree. No one wins when dialogues become befouled with personal attacks.
However when I read your article on the police invasion I didn't really see it as exactly a personal attack but an emotional response to a personal attack upon you and your wife, that can frankly never be justified. It's why many follow you and decry the abusiveness of the police state.
If there is any proof in the pudding to your writings, then the article 'My Wife and I.."illustrates it profoundly. I might have turned "fat" into adipose minds or some such, but the meaning is probably better implied in regards to your response to such injustice as occurred, and for the second time this week I began to hear the lyrics to an old country song when reading a substance article.
Sometimes it might be needed to provide an "Attitude Adjustment" to those who choose to think they have rights over you.
A long time ago, in the early 70's I was driving a cab in Reno and on Fridays and Saturdays the kids would cruise up and down the strip in front of the casinos. I was parked in the cab lane waiting on a fare and the teenage boys got out of their car and ran to the car in front of them and pulled this pretty black woman out of the car where she was riding with a black man. I was about to jump out of the cab, but I did not have to because the woman's husband was quicker and he laid the four boys on the ground all on his own.
The cops had to come through the alley and then I did get out to go tell them what I had witnessed. But they had no interest in hearing me and ordered me to get out of the street and proceeded to attempt to handcuff the black gentlemen. While he didn't fight the police, I did. I jumped into the frey and knocked the handcuffs out of the police officer's hands. I think there were at that time only four of them and I was holding my own against them. I'm not really a good fighter, but I'm pretty good at defending and I was bound and determined I was not going to let them arrest someone when they didn't even know what had happened, or appeared to having any interest in finding out what had occurred. But then there were ten and I am not Bruce Lee. So we both went off to jail.Eventually wev went before the court and I didn't want to talk about what I had done in fighting the the police, I still wanted to defend him.
The long and short of it was, I got bail but he was denied because he was from out of state.
My case came to trial first and I got time served. But then I testified at his trial and during that testimony and finally got to tell what happened.
I was quite emotional on the idea that police needed to find out what happened before they just arrested anyone. Apparently the jury agreed because they acquired the gentleman.
The point is that you had a right to defend your wife and she you; and you had a right to be emotional about the harassment. Because otherwise the police state can abuse others at will.
Amazing story, Ken! I admire what you did very much.
And it is an excellent illustration of one of the many things that is wrong with the police. They have qualified immunity, so they don’t suffer any real consequences.
You look up the words "bully cop" on youtube and you get a mile long list of egregious misuse of supposed "authority." I thought this was one of the most offensive ones that exquisitely demonstrates one of the best examples I've seen. Threatening an inoffensive working person waiting for his uber. Yet when you look down the comments you will find at least a couple of those who will justify this kind of abuse of coercive power. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-ZbME4qfOI when some of the other members of the blue gang show up none of them objects to this crime.
No, this post was recent and he says that the case is still pending. Many comments urged this man to sue their pants off, and I think if he had a good lawyer he should have a very good case for false arrest, kidnapping, threats of bodily harm etc. This cop like all of them are supposed to have a bond, and a good lawyer could use this to get compensation for this guy and suspend the bond which means that this cop could not continue as a police officer.
Thank you for putting yourself out there on this and so many things Christopher! Doing it often dredges up stuff from the swamp. I'm no twiggy so when I read "fat" and so forth in your original article I did take notice but I put it in the context of the article, you were likely correct and who you are and I got it. My Dad who was a very tough Italian American, but not prejudiced, still called Italian-Americans who acted a certain way "wops or guineas" and Irish who acted a certain way "micks" and so on. It was a port city divided on ethnic lines but most got a long well and my Dad married my Mom a Scotch-Irish lady.
I call out certain "leaders" and call them monsters, psychopaths, racists, mass child murderers, supremacists etc. and often I'll get push back and I usually respond: "So he is not a psychopath then why did he openly threaten to murder and starve a population of mostly defenseless women and children and then actually do it"? I rarely get any real answer back.
Psychopath, etc. are justified when they are accurate. My comments were admittedly a bit on the petty side, and extremely rare, as you know. But sometimes, we just let loose, and it's primarily lefties who seem almost congenitally incapable of lightening up.
And speaking as a (mostly) Italian-American myself, I would have just laughed when your dad called me a wop. It is true that we should be careful about the use of such terms, but it is equally true that people need to chillax a bit. This society has a pretty big pole up its you-know-what right now.
at least we can re-use some posters from 70, 80 years ago, that some people still recognize. It is interesting to read the reactions of people who fled these countries.
They are always so shocked at coddled Western youth expressing a desire for the horrors they escaped. Shouldn't that be instructive to the coddled Western youth?
I remember a Chinese asking an American why we still watch TV. She said, we have known for a long time TV is propaganda. And several former Soviets have spoken out the same way. I hope our youth has some brain cells left.
Don't beat yourself up over venting to an internet audience with imperfect language. No one's feelings were hurt. The people who choose to attack you over this are using your values against you. Don't let it work.
Thanks, brother. I definitely do not feel bad, nor am I apologizing. I speak the truth when I say that I generally try to be civil, and I speak the truth when I say that in this case, I feel perfectly justified. Plus, writing this post gave me a chance to bash leftism, which I don’t get a chance to do nearly enough these days!
That Marx-o-Matic 3000 you're talking about... it's a goddamn poison factory. The freaks plug in a simple truth and get a stream of weaponized stupidity for their trouble. They can't stand the idea that the rot isn't about sex or skin, it's about power. It's about the grubby little swine who crave authority because they have nothing else. You called a petty tyrant what she was. In this foul environment, that's just good, clean reporting. Keep firing.
And every iteration of the left since the beginning has added a piece to that damn machine. Postmodernism, the New Left, Cultural Marxism, Western Marxism, etc. 100 years of building that vile contraption.

🤣 She saw your comment before I did, and she told me about it, saying, "Hey, if that makes you cool, what does it make me?"
But then she added the classic line from Phineas and Ferb: "Well, now I'm Linda and I want to stir broth."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSS9H00vjp8
(It's funnier if you know the reference—before she was Linda the mom, she was Lindana the pop star.)
I bet she stirs the broth in a totally badass way. One may be able to change identity in life, but the badass always sticks!
🙏🏻❤️🔥
Yep, she's still a rockstar, just in new ways :-)
A man truly blessed to find such a companion. But then we know he is a smart one. (and cool)
🤣 🙏🏻 ❤️
The only people who get their knickers in a knot over the words "fat," "ugly," and "loser" are fat, ugly losers.
Why is it that the left are so much more humorless?
PTSD caused by early childhood trauma. The Machine knows how to identify and groom them from youth on. They ARE victims, just not in the way they claim to be.
THIS... is a very good answer ;)
The left I know, old
Fashioned Brit labour union types, were lazy but wanted lots. Lazy and greedy. They actually made sense. “I want more and I don’t want to work harder. My option is to demand more collectively”. It is logical and rational. The modern left is illogical.
So logical and wicked vs. illogical and wicked.
Yup. Exactly. But they were rational actors.
because Communism is the religion of the malcontents. Hard to laugh if you are perpetually miserable.
Also, statistically (according to an increasing number of studies, anyway), lefties are…
Less attractive
Less happy
Lower in sexual dimorphism
Less likely to smile
Less likely to express satisfaction with their sex lives (and they have less of it).
So they really are (more likely to be) perpetually miserable.

I'm not sure.

Thank you for the kind words and for making time for the thoughtful reply. You had me at the Corinthians reference :)
Have a great trip!

Yep, it’s a toxic soup. And thank you for the reminder about mental illness. Did I not see something about a study showing them to be more likely to be cluster B?
I had to look up cluster B. My work experience has me more aware of "cluster F."
Cluster B seems to accurately describe the politicians and voters on the left.
I have a several stories of authoritarian types that have such negative effects on people around them and the names I’ve called them, some in a passive aggressive way to their face. Here is a good one.

Excellent illustration.
And I think that the fact that Kenny was weaker and picked on as a child is actually an important and instructive aspect of this story.
BC has made wells so restrictive they are effectively not legal.
Years ago I took the real estate coarse and they described how from each corner of your property you own everything all the way to the center of the earth in a line. You're wife rocks! I'm sure you know this
But I had to say it. Great post
She does indeed. We are a lucky couple, really. I thank God.
And thank you!
Sad that ya have to defend yourself against that bullshit. Or don’t. 🤷🏻♂️
Part of the price to play in the public square I guess. Can’t live with ‘em and can’t kill ‘em. What’s a poor boy to do?
Heh!

I watched that video, your wife can shred. In regards to the article, sometimes people need name calling. LOL
Yeah, she worked hard at her craft back in the day.
And yes, lots of people deserve it!
Dude... you married 'up' :-)
As for idiots taking your words out-of-context to bolster their own biases? The bottom-feeders from X (and Bluesky) are making their homes here.
And there goes the neighborhood LOL Great piece, man!
Thanks, Stonehenge!
Bottom-feeders gonna bottom-feed.
Nice. Don't worry about insulting people from time to time, don't make a habit of it (I don't. myself) but from time its the right thing to do.
That is exactly what I just said to several others. It is petty, unnecessary, and weakens one's argument. But every once in a blue moon…

Best line in there: "Our rights don't end where your fear begins."
Do you know if there ended up being any consequences for the cop(s)?
No, this post was recent and he says that the case is still pending. Sometimes going after the hypocrits “moneychangers” with a whip is what just has to be done.
It’s pretty much what they deserve. Whether it would work on a practical level is another question.
