I saw them live at the Kerrisdale Arena way back. They appeared with Peter Tosh.

How was it?

I saw Peter Tosh in the 80s.

Wait…was it Peter Tosh? Now I must ask my friend.

Better yet, I just remembered…it was Jimmy Cliff.

Isn’t getting older fun? 🤣🤣🤣

Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, and Sly and the Family Stone. All three. 1982 maybe?

Now you have me wondering. Maybe it was Jimmy Cliff and Sly, and Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff. Two concerts. It was an amazing concert. Sly performed Hot Fun in the Summertime. It was brand new.

That sounds like fun!

Mine was a bit later into the 80s (85, maybe?) and definitely just reggae. Frankly, I was far more interested in the girl I was with than the music, and between that and middle-aged-brain, that is all I remember 🤣

Which city, Christopher?

New Haven, CT, most likely. But even that I do not remember for sure. I suppose it could have been Hartford or somewhere else in CT. I was in high school, so I doubt it was any further afield than that.

Ha another radical anarchist saying we should learn to get along with people who are different than us

Good think we have corporate/ state media to tell us whose need to hate pumping that message into us every second of the day

We don't care simply because we're social animals. Being a social animal doesn't necessitate codependence. Codependence is the false part of our care -- the part that always boomerangs back around to, "What's in it for me?" That's the egotism that stops us from doing what we want to, what we know is right and good to do, forces us to do the opposite, and most times renders us mute and catatonically undecided, which usually passes for "indifference" and "laziness" but in fact is just cowardice. We can be social and engage in society as fully adult humans who choose and act for the sake of **all of us together**. It's not the opposite of egotism or selfishness, because it's a rejection of and exit from the only paradigm in which egotism or selfishness could be constituted.
