I think it might be even more basic than that. Many animals will pick **a predictable food supply + captivity** over **freedom + not knowing where your next meal is coming from.** I think that many people's preference for security over freedom is just a base animal instinct to prioritize basic survival needs over higher, more intangible goods like freedom.
In fact, this makes me realize that those of us who prefer freedom are more evolved 🤣
You could say the truest thing in the world and *someone* out there will find fault with it. Just speak your mind and don’t worry about what people will say or do or think.
We have ( well.. some of us.. lol ) cognitive or logicthinking and free will.. animals go by instinct alone more or less, .. we are more evolved... yet, all that brain seems to come with ego and a self destruct mechanism ..
Right, but how do you account for the fact that many (maybe even most) humans really do not concern themselves much with freedom, and instead prefer security?
Not anymore.. that is part of the long term fear mongering and propaganda. Our Forefathers were not like that.
We have become too comfortable also.. "give them bread and circuses".. and what seems to be a general disrespect/ disconnect for life ( human and animal ) and the environment.
Safety and security are illusions created with all kinds of synthetic, commercial and artificial "make- believe" and replacements.
People are escaping and numbing, their instict tells them it's all wrong, but cannot free themselves from the clown show.. fear of illness and death have become crippling even though we all know that sooner or later we will get some form of illness that comes with age and that we all will die. Very few humans are truly alive.. they live but they are not alive. They run to doctors every week, never realizing that it is wasting their precious time.
There are so many "treadmills" that keep us bound. Money is supposed to be "security" and "happiness" .. lol now we spend most of our lives running after the green and when we are finally retire, we are too old to do what we should have done 20 years prior. Kids do not have "childhoods" anymore.. they are kept busy instead of developing their own creativity and character. Constant "supervision" and control, all fear based, locked up instead of "out there playing in groups". We used to take our bikes and be gone all day.. in this crazy world it would be considered "child neglect" or abuse or endangerment or something else totally insane. Child services: why did you not watch you child like a hawk all day long.. right?! Freedom.
It starts early...
Nature has been villefied, suddenly we are afraid of animals .. I swam with sharks many times, not a digit or chunk is missing on my body.. lol .. all dramatized.. sun is dangerous.. the sky may fall down any minute now.. and of course, everybody is evil, they are all out to get you.. all distractions from the real danger... and we end up with more rules, laws, regulaions and truly upside down "understanding" of what "natual" really is. Common sense gone.. Reality has been skewered and distorted and by now the fear is so big that people cannot even see the truth it seems or go straight into denial and put the head back in the screen, drink another beer, eat another twinky or start hoarding money.. and possessions.
That is an accurate enough enumeration of many of the problems that truly ail us.
I do fear, however, that even without that, you would still have a large swath of people who don't care about freedom at all. Mencken's quote was from the 1920s, I think, before a lot of those problems. Jefferson's was from the first decades of the 19th century.
Grow your own food, teach your own children, make your own clothes.. then you'll know what you get, won't be in debt or addicted to sitting in front of a screen with head full of propaganda and useless information. Involvement in local trade and community might just teach us how to be social again and learn how to get along .. lol
Imagine, no more political discussion.. just social choices.. it is really hard to even imagine! That is how lost and dependent we have become.
Thinking someone else should come up with solutions for my life. Someone who does not really know me or my living conditions. And charge me for it.. 😂
I'm not a statistic or a guinea pig.
I don't want to have a chip implanted, be guided by an algorithm, wear a barcode... or a number tattoed on my forearm ..
How much time is wasted just worrying about foreign policy, wars and all that interference.. litarally thousands of miles away. it's a waste of time. If we'd all just mind our own business and take care of what is right in front of us.
We seem to be too busy? .. with what?
Too distracted? .. with what?
Too stressed and worried? .. with what?
There is a saying: "stay in your hoola- hoop".
Getting into other peoples business is what creates all strive in this world.
I agree! Government used to be small. Run by people not polititians and were held responsible .. We may need some representation but nothing centralized or people in the job for years and years.
The Founders were all aristocrats, and Hamilton created the conditions whereby the government would not remain small. What we have now was inevitable from the start.
No form of government has ever worked. All forms have ended up in overreach, oppression and sooner or later a detriment to the People. Hence the thought of local, not as a "job" or "institution", People taking responsibility for their independence. No interference in and from international "business". An anti- law society.. wisdom and morality instead. And some common sense. Family based not money based.
Some will have to gear up and some will have to show some self restrain ... balance.
Inside out instead of "enforced" and "dictated".
Too many people simply do not want to take responsibility .. not for their own behavior or their own lives.. that's how we end up exchanging our freedom and independence .. we cannot subsidize responsibility.
Not everyone will show restraint and responsibility, though.
The old way was to say, "Hey, not everyone will show restraint and responsibility; therefore, EVERYONE must be subjected to force."
A new way would just be to allow us to create our own communities and then refuse entry to such people. Or perhaps that is a very old way to which we ought to return…
So interesting that more and more humans are using music and art to speak thier piece into the world today. A momentum seems to be building which I find encouraging!
Also, I agree that initiating an overthrow is not the solution. I see the solution as the emergence and building of products and services that establish our freedom and protection of property. Then the coercive authorities become irrelevant. We need alternatives that humans actually want and benefit from. My thoughts.
Right, exactly. I have recently begun calling it "Independence by degrees." Really, I have not called it that publicly yet—but I did write it in crayon on the shower wall :-)
If a fight comes hard and fast, and the only choice is to fight, then we have the advantage of decentralization. Asymmetric tactics often win. But no, we would not be organized for such a fight.
As individuals, we should try to "prep" as much as we can. But no, many of us will not be ready.
"how best do humans respond to the pushes we experience?"
—Voting clearly isn't working. That's just more of the same for another couple of centuries. Initiating revolutionary overthrow is neither practical nor desirable, so I think we must avoid that.
The only solution I have left is to start building something separate and get as far as we can!
Yep, get as far as you can building a distributed nation. I'd also suggest getting as far away as you can from the madding crowd, -or at least have a just in case space ready in the middle of they don't know where.
I seem to remember you mentioning in passing Christopher that you're wife might not be as comfortable with way way far away from it all as you might be. You need to get yourself a little runabout like this and your nowhere'd be only 5 hours away from most anywhere. Grin.; https://kodiak.aero/kodiak/
Actually, I think I have found an area that might fit the bill. Rural, but not hours-from-everything rural. Sparsely populated, but with a freeway not too far. Gonna start looking soon…
Powerful voice and words, love getting new music recommendations. But, watching the video put a real check in my sprit… the ending dripping with blood, then water then more blood- multiple occult symbols throughout?
This is an apolitical, purely aesthetic comment: thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for introducing me to this artist.
This might be the first rock (new to me) and roll album I’ve listend to from end to end … well, for a long time. Maybe that says more about me than the state of rock n’ roll. Let me summarize: I think I’m in love.
For me, the true purpose of #FreedomMusicFriday was never to talk about freedom. I do that every other day of the week; I don't need music to give me an excuse.
The purpose of #FMF is to get people pumped up. To give them a playlist of music that gives them that pumped feeling we all used to get when we were younger. (And then to marry that feeling to freedom, of course.)
Most people reach a certain age and never again listen to anything new. They have their taste set, their playlist set, and that's that. Heck, my wife was a rock and roll lead guitarist for more than 20 years and even she isn't adding much new to her playlist.
As it turns out, there are neurological reasons why familiar things are so pleasant, so it makes sense. Still, I personally want new music all the time. And so I am DELIGHTED that this has provided some new music to you.
We are here👇
As H.L. Mencken said, “Most people want security in this world, not liberty.” IOW, normies gonna normie.
LOL yeah. Sigh.
Mencken is right! .. fear mongering is such a successful tool for subjugation. These days disasters are created just for that..

😂👍 taking responsibility is being evolved!!
In a society of lazy, ignorant and arrogant people... did I just "say" that..???!!!! 😂😂😂
You did! And you weren't wrong.
Thanks for the restack btw.
Thank you!!!
Speaking ones truth is not easy.. it shows that I'm still worried what others might say or being judged.. makes me furious! 😂😂
You could say the truest thing in the world and *someone* out there will find fault with it. Just speak your mind and don’t worry about what people will say or do or think.
Yes. That is exactely it!!! They need to live their own truth with their own results and consequences.
We have ( well.. some of us.. lol ) cognitive or logicthinking and free will.. animals go by instinct alone more or less, .. we are more evolved... yet, all that brain seems to come with ego and a self destruct mechanism ..

False safety.

I think this may be a perennial human issue…
The corruption has been going on for a very long time.. Rothchild and cohorts just elevated the game.
Now it's just an out of control juggernaut .. like the manufacturing of weapons and business with war... it has derailed.
Industry out of control.
Grow your own food, teach your own children, make your own clothes.. then you'll know what you get, won't be in debt or addicted to sitting in front of a screen with head full of propaganda and useless information. Live and let live.
Wisdom.
Grow your own roses and smell them. 😂
Well said.
'There is a saying: "stay in your hoola- hoop".'
—I have never heard that saying before…

Nice, although a fight could come hard and fast. Are you ready? Are we ready?
I see more outrage against war these days, so how best do humans respond to the pushes we experience? Rhetorical mostly
This is a worthy area of exploration.
We must think practically about our choices.
If a fight comes hard and fast, and the only choice is to fight, then we have the advantage of decentralization. Asymmetric tactics often win. But no, we would not be organized for such a fight.
As individuals, we should try to "prep" as much as we can. But no, many of us will not be ready.

Plus a pilot’s license!

No, this is not the way, the truth or the light.
Yeah, I hear you. I usually try NOT to watch videos for that very reason.
That said, in most cases, I think it is the defiance and rebelliousness of youth (trying to be edgy, basically) rather than actual demonic stuff.

I couldn't agree more.
Yeah baby!!
You are your own authority.
The Gods do not come kneeling!
Right on!
I was born feral 🕊 Fuck the system😤
Then I clearly posted this song just for you!!
Yep😁
She kinda said it all! Her f-words took away from the meaning some.
I know some people do not like such language. But I have to respect the anti-slavery impulse in all people, including edgy musicians :-)
And those who want to continue living in slavery—let them! That's their choice. But let my people go!!
Me too. Granted it was a while ago now. But we all have our wake-up moment!
