PSA: Vegan Diet Linked to Bowel Cancer
No, this is not satire. (Plus a note and special offer.)
Hello faithful readers,
I am traveling today and do not have the next Distributed Nation installment prepped yet. Still, I am not going to leave you without content, and it just so happens that I have some news you need to know.
(After reading about veggie-cancer, see below for a note on the book and a special offer.)
The assault on fat and meat has gone on for years, thanks in large measure to collusion between big agribusiness (especially Big Sugar/BigCorn), dishonest scientists and doctors, and politicians.
A couple of fraudulent studies came out in the middle–late twentieth century saying that animal fat is bad for your health. Congress—especially George McGovern and the American Democrats—gave TheScience™ the government stamp of approval, via its dietary recommendations, and, being the sheep we are, we all bought in. After all, they’re government—why would they lie?
Add in the left’s weird obsession with soy (which Ayn Rand had pegged in Atlas Shrugged 65 years ago!) and vegetarianism, and exclusively plant-based diets have become increasingly popular for years.
But are they putting your health at risk?
Split into two groups, one was given a diet free of meat and milk proteins, while the other was fed a normal diet over six weeks.
Those consuming a normal diet developed fewer tumours in their small intestine. But both had the same number in their large intestine.
After introducing albumin — a protein found in meat — to the protein- free programme, researchers saw the same tumour-suppressing effects on the small intestine.
They also found that the diets influenced the number of T cells — a type of immune 'fighter' cell. Mice consuming plant-based diets recorded fewer T cells in the small intestine.
Government. The left. Corrupt scientists. Is there anything they don’t get wrong?
Granted, this is just one more data point. But the data points have been piling up for a few years now. Meat and dairy very likely aren’t the bogeymen they’ve been purported to be.
If you choose to be a vegan, you do so at your own risk.
Finally, just a quick note before I head out the door…
I am aware that we are all antsy about the world situation and looking for solutions.
I do not have a prescription for fixing all the world’s problems (and you should not trust anyone who claims they do), but The Distributed Nation is ultimately about a solution—a direction we can take without having to ask anyone’s permission. The first steps toward a future of real human freedom and independence.
Some of you have expressed a measure of impatience regarding the pace at which I am getting to that part of the story.
I get it. I feel the same impatience. When I write, my pulse quickens. I try to think fast and hard—to get through each part of the journey as quickly as possible. I feel the pressure every day.
A complete case must be made, however, and thus I must proceed in order. But I promise I am working to get through everything as fast as I can!
I am sacrificing a fair amount to get this done, because it is the right thing to do. Thank you for being there with me. For thinking things through with me. Thank you for your support, friendship, and precious time.
If you are able to become a supporting subscriber, that would be extremely helpful. Indeed, without ongoing and increasing support, it will be very difficult to see this project through to its application in the real-world.
For the cost of one meal at a cheap diner for a whole year, you can help make that happen. And to thank you for your patience and steadfast support for human independence, I am making it an even cheaper diner: 50% off all yearly subscriptions through the weekend!
Just use this link or click the button below. Thank you!
They "planet-based diet" typo is amusing. Accounts for some of the obesity epidemic, I'm sure.
Thanks christopher for all you're hard work it is much appreciated.
