In Declaring Your Independence, Step Zero, I reminded you all just how freaky our situation is:
So here we are, living in what we have long referred to as a “free country.” And perhaps it is still freer than other places, but here in 2023, how free do you feel, really?
After watching what happened with covid, do you feel free?
Now that the Department of Justice is not working on behalf of actual justice, but rather as the enforcement arm for a political ideology, do you feel free?
Big corporations are playing a similar role—censoring information, silencing dissidents, de-banking people for WrongThink—all in service to that same ideology. Do you feel free? Or are you wondering if you’re next?
Now that criminals are allowed to burn cities, but parents speaking out at school-board meetings are declared “domestic terrorists,” do you feel free?
Trains are derailing and chemical plants are exploding, poisoning the land, water, and air. Food-processing facilities are burning to the ground. These events have been occurring in clusters, at a rate that is statistically impossible to be merely the result of random chance. There was clearly human agency at work…but no dispositive answers as to who, what, or why. Does that make you feel free? Does it make you feel safe?
Police are slamming people to the pavement for not wearing masks. The police don’t know whether masking is pointless or not, and they don’t care. The law is the law, and they enforce the law. Do you feel free?
People are being denied medical care because they refused to allow themselves to be injected with an untested, experimental mRNA vaccine. And now, scientists at Yale are working on an airborne version of that vaccine. How safe does that make you feel? Will you be free to say no when it is in the air you breathe?
Parents are being thrown in jail for “misgendering” their own children.
Billionaire megalomaniacs and shady ideologues in foreign capitals appear to be pulling unseen strings—openly speaking of their agenda, but never leaving behind any definitive proof. Are we in control at all? Are there even real counties anymore?
People are already being concentrated in travel-restricted “smart” cities. Is that what you want?
Poor people are being burned out of their homes under extremely mysterious circumstances. Is your area next?
——
A certain percentage of human beings have always been perverse and wicked enough to want to do these subject us to such horrors. And now, the world has shrunk, and technology has advanced, to the point where such people can pursue their aims on a global scale. It is scary.
And yet here you are.
Learning. Connecting with others. Weathering the storm. Standing strong.
You’re different.
A greater share of the human species have an external locus of control. It tells them…
Do what the tribe is doing.
Listen to the experts.
Obey the leaders.
Survival is found in the collective.
But you have an internal locus of control—a compass that tells you…
Think for yourself.
The ‘experts’ aren’t always right.
Our leaders may be psychopaths.
There is danger in blind compliance.
You are not anti-social. You love the people whom you want to love. You participate in the groups in which you choose to participate. But you also do not conform for the sake of conformity, and as a result of this, you do not fall into mass-formation hypnosis.
You stand strong as an individual human person.
Those with an external locus of control are frightened of you. Their survival mechanism is to blend into the tribe. Yours is to look to yourself first.
To those with the hive mentality, you are dangerous.
You and I know who we are.
We are not prey.
We are not herd animals.
We stand strong.
In spite of the craziness, there are many reasons to be optimistic. We began talking about this back in May, and again last Friday. Here are a few more:
The Internet
There have been five great revolutions in human communication; the internet is the fifth. Each of those revolutions has coincided with an advance in human freedom and cooperation. Especially the last three. (Are you reading my book installments? The very last one, which will post later this year, will be on this subject.)
Overreach
THEY are going too far. Overreach always leads to backlash eventually.
Awareness
The internet + overreach + the insanity of 2020-23 has awakened a lot of people…and more wake up every day. We do not need a majority, just a critical mass. And we are going to hit that critical mass eventually.
“The future is not set.”
Remember that line from The Terminator series? We have the power to determine the course of events. We are NOT helpless.
Collapse
Sovereign debt and unfunded liabilities are likely going to collapse the economies of many developed nations. Though it seems weird to root for something like this, it may be the only way to move the necessary process of decentralization forward. The nation state, in its modern form, is only a couple of hundred years old, and it has now outlived any usefulness it may once have had.
When things outlive their usefulness, they tend to die. We must be ready to rise from the ashes.
Rhizomatic Consciousness
As Demi Pietchell of
wrote last October, we can impact one another through conscious shifts in thought—rhizomatically sharing information the way trees share chemicals through an underground mycelial network. But the kinds of information we share, and vibes we give off, matter very much…
Pessimism is beyond counterproductive. I will not mince words here: it is criminal negligence, and does great damage to the cause of freedom, to spread pessimism and despair!
Pessimism is contagious. Hopelessness is contagious.
Hopeless people do not fight back. If we spend our days handing out black pills and sharing nothing but doom porn, we may be making that doom a fait accompli. That is NOT COOL.
But optimism is also contagious. So by spreading hope, we are increasing our chances of victory.
To do any less harms us all.
Evolution
This is a complex one topic for another time, but simply put, I believe that the curtain is about to open on the next act in the story of human liberty. Monarchy was Act 1. Democracy has been Act 2. We are on the cusp of evolving to the 3rd level of human social organization. Act 3 will see decentralization, growing respect of consent, and a devolution of authority over your life to where it belongs: to you.
This is not going to happen because our overlords allow it. It will happen because our overlords will have no choice. An evolutionary process is underway. It cannot be stopped. No revolution required.
YOU
But most of all, I am optimistic because of you.
You are a badass survivor.
You are not a drone—you are an individual.
You are the hope of the future.
In the face of all this madness, you have not given up. You are here, now, looking for new information. Looking for friends and allies. Fighting for your freedom. Standing strong.
And so, here on #FreedomMusicFriday, this song’s for you.
This from Doug Casey: "Remember that the government doesn’t really represent the country. The government is a separate entity that has its own interests, much as a church, a corporation, or any other organization does. The problem is that the government is the only institution in society that doesn’t survive by voluntary trade and production. It survives by force, confiscating assets from the people that it rules. People have an entirely backwards view of what the government is. It’s not your friend."
One must come to see this truth and desire to outlast the tyrants. Maybe we are at the crossroads and within the next 10 years the current master-slave relationship will be busted apart and replaced, brick by brick.
No winning football team went into a game believing they had no chance to win. This old grey war horse thanks you ! I’m up for another round.
