Fauci and Paul are both doctors, and neither of them are epidemiologists, but only one of them is pretending to be an authority on epidemiology.

The last one should read: "How much Jim would Jim Beam beam, if Jim Beam could beam Jim?"

How much chuck chuck a chuck wood would if a chuck wood could wood chuck?

This post is a lightning bolt!

Doesn't it look like the dept of corrections side has better options. Give those kids something to work for!

I know for a fact how much difference a generation can make. I'm a boomer. However much good or bad we did to this country, we certainly had an impact. If all these insane leftists failed to reproduce, it would be worth seeing.

Ya Chandler what were those activities!

It’s an excellent question. If I still lived out that way, perhaps I would quack it at them.

I like the two Flock camera ones, and the Rand Paul clap back is brutal. I adore the "not real socialism" one. But I think I have to pick "Who Do You Trust More" because seriously, mega props to that guy. If I ever run across him, I'm buyin' him a beer if he drinks them, and a burger if he doesn't.

How about a burger and a beer?

Christopher Cook's avatar

Or a burger and an Old Fashioned? 🤣

Warmek's avatar

Honestly, I'll buy the hero whatever he *wants*, under $50.

Christopher Cook's avatar

These days, 50 bucks should just about cover a burger and a beer.

Depending on the location, yeah. And some places, even $50 wouldn't cover a burger and a single pint. Oi. :-/

I can tell I'm getting old, because I have ever increasingly frequent moments of "back in my day!" But seriously, when I was in college in the mid to late '90s, one of the places my girlfriend (now ex-wife) lived backed across the alley from a Burger King. And for several years they had seasonal "Two Whoppers for Two Dollars" specials. And even as recently as 2004, when the Dollar was significantly stronger than it is now against the Pound, there was a bar that served two dollar pints of Guinness.

Which... led to the evening in which I drank two *gallons* of Guinness. I'd just gotten a very well paying new job, and invited everyone I knew out and said I'd buy a pint for everyone who showed up. And... matched quite a few of them. Guinness is mild enough and low enough ABV that I didn't get sick from it, but I *did* feel like I'd been run over by a truck the next day.

I remember going out to California a few years before that, in 2000, after I'd graduated college and gotten my first Dot-Com job, right before the big crash, and being absolutely *appalled* that gasoline was *TWO DOLLARS* a gallon. In the Bay Area. In high school, in the early '90s, I occasionally got to buy gasoline for *under* a dollar a gallon. These days, it's *literally* an occasion on which to take pictures and text them to friends when I see gasoline for under two dollars a gallon, and I haven't seen that since a short road trip I took up to Denver to go to a concert in 2023. Random little blink-and-you'll-miss-it town on I-25, both gas stations in town had gas for $1.99 a gallon. No idea why, really, that was probably thirty cents cheaper than when I'd filled up in Albuquerque, and gas is usually *more* expensive in those little middle-of-nowhere towns. I didn't even *need* gas, but I saw the sign and pulled off to buy some just to say I had. Though, it worked out nicely, because I could get from there to Denver and back on a single tank, which meant my overall outlay for the trip was less than expected.

I'll probably never buy gasoline for that little again. Right now, I'd be happy to get gas here in town for $3.00 a gallon.

So, yeah. Back in my day, and all that.
