A Special Offer, and Two Inspiring Short Films
Become my 100th paid sub and have your mind blown…
Greetings! Today will be a quick post, for several reasons.
I am in the middle of remodeling my home office, and there is a lot of work to do yet. (I have to make room for some stuff from my wife’s office, since she is going to start doing more artwork up there and needs the space.)
Also, I am still answering all of your amazing comments from the last two days, and that is a full-time job in and of itself. It is truly an honor to have such thoughtful people here, sharing your ideas and posing such excellent questions! (If I have missed any of your comments, please forgive me—it has been a torrent for almost 48 hours.)
Plus, I am trying to get ahead on prep for the new book I have been promising you, the current working title for which is The Distributed Nation: A Declaration, a Constitution, and a Plan for Human Independence.
So, quickly then…
I am, for today through Friday, offering another half-off deal on supporting subscriptions. And there is a specific reason…
If I understand correctly how Substack works, I am now 17 paid subscriptions away from getting my first checkmark.
I have worked hard to get here. I have enjoyed amazing support from all of you, and of course from my wonderful family. So while I am not usually focused on such things, I have decided that I want that checkmark!
To that end…
On top of the 50 percent deal, I am offering a special bonus: A second year free for the person who becomes my 100th paid sub.
Being a supporting subscriber gets you full access to my other book, of the same name as my stack, and all my other paid content.
You can become a supporting subscriber and take advantage of this offer by clicking this link, or the Subscribe button here:
Thank you to ALL of you, free and paid alike. I do this for you, and I am able to do this because of you.
And now, because I cannot leave without giving you some content…
Some of you may remember when I posted the stunning short film “Kingdom,” from Lubomir Arsov. It was inspiring, and I know it touched a lot of you deeply. It also kicked off our #FreedomShorts feature here at the Freedom Scale. If you have not yet seen it—it is an absolute must!
Well, there is also what looks to be an earlier (and maybe less refined) version by Arsov. It’s called “In Shadow.” It’s a little trippier and a little darker than “Kingdom,” with a less obvious heroic theme. But if you liked the style and the social commentary of “Kingdom,” I think you will like this one too. (That said, I recommend watching “Kingdom” first and then coming back to watch this.)
Thanks again to you all!
'In Shadow' is such an amazing short, I remember the first time I saw it I was blown away by how the animator managed to say so much with absolutely no dialogue. It is one of those films that only gets more relevant and powerful as we appear to be slouching towards an absurd transhumanist dystopia.
I hate YT so much. It's been one thing i have solidly been able to resist an boycott. Might i be so bold as to recommend an alternative?

I simply won't link, open or share YT.
