Are we going to line up everyone and judge whether they deserve to live or not?
How does that make us any different than any other murderous, violent regime in history?
It isn't a black and white fight, and there are no black and white answers.
There has to be others answers, other choices, and other ways.
But as I've said many times, you move in a direction, make choices, and watch new choices and paths unfold.
Otherwise you become what you are trying to move away from.
Mankind is becoming more self-aware. It is obvious that some people are, and some people are still stuck. But it has to make a difference, and it will the further we go.
The "who is the enemy" question is one of the biggest. There are people somewhere in all of this who deserve to be overthrown by any means necessary, and then put in prison for 15,000 years. But who are they, exactly? Where are they? Where does one draw the line?
I cannot say what will happen. As you say, we move in a direction and see what unfolds. But I cannot recommend violent revolution as a starting strategy.
“And the only real act of rebellion will be to log off—to look away from the glowing feed and remember that the real world, the one outside your window, is still there. Quiet. Solid. Waiting for anyone brave enough to return to it.”
So well said. We have to remember to hug a tree, so to speak, and unplug.
After seeing how too many people believe what they are told (i.e. wearing those stupid paper masks), anything is possible, b/c the majority of people want to conform with others.
But what happens if digital ID takes over – it’s creeping into Texas now…
IMO, our plan here—to develop a nation within nations, with its own national consciousness—is a strong option. Others may have different ideas, but that is mine, and I believe it can work.
You say that "time is on our side". I am not sure this is correct. It seems to me that we are at THE crucial point in history. The forces of the slavers are attempting to automate slavery. If they succeed, it might be impossible to ever be free. Once a system of computerized enforcement is established, complete with pervasive surveillance, how can it ever be dismantled?
You are right to ask the question. I suppose that without the broader context of the plans I have been formulating (with the help of the good people here), it is a little misleading.
I agree—the hour seems late and the situation seems dire. So what do we do about it?
We can start by identifying two meta-categories: we do something about it, or we talk about it without taking any specific action.
Most people fall into the latter category. That is not to say that talking—raising awareness, etc.—isn't valuable. It most certainly is. It's value may be limited, but it is important nonetheless.
Then there is the do-something camp. We can subdivide that into do something within the system (voting, lobbying, public policy NGOs, etc.) and outside the system. I do not hold out much hope for the former, personally, but I respect the effort. It helps. It all helps.
I am partially in the talk-about-it end, of course, but I am working toward the do-something camp as well. And my approach will be an outside-the-system solution. Now, we can further subdivide those as I have done in this piece: https://christophercook.substack.com/p/stop-caring-what-other-people-think (Click on the links where it says "DN 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, and 2.7, with a special focus on 2.3.")
Of those, I have chosen my own course—informed by other ideas, of course, but also of my own devising. That plan is long-term. I believe that if we can create a new kind of "national" identity based on a shared believe in individual (and property) sovereignty, that we can weather the coming storms, grow, and reach a place of strength that will allow us to act.
There are other approaches. I respect them all. Put pressure on the wall from as many angles as possible! I am contributing my own angle, in a way that I believe can work.
Do you see what I mean? Does that at least partially answer your important and reasonable query?
Of course, we are each contributing how we can. After I write this reply, I will look at the links you shared. I am in the "planning" category. This means I will talk about what to do, until I identify some action(s) that are likely to succeed. Then I will act. I have previously been guilty of the urge to "do something", only to see my actions turn out to be futile (or worse!). This robs us of vital energy, and costs us time. Right now time may be important. If we want time to be on our side, we at least need to plan and execute something that will throw a monkey wrench into their plans to automate slavery. I welcome discussion in the area. Thanks for the reply.
I have been reading a lot of Simone Weil and Tolstoy in recent years. Some of my friends would be Voluntaryists I suppose.
I really cannot say, because I am on the other side of the Ocean. I do find accelerationism to be seductive, but I am not aware of even a single force that could govern after the government were to topple. Stay safe.
"I have been reading a lot of Simone Weil and Tolstoy in recent years."
—Please tell me what you have learned!
"Some of my friends would be Voluntaryists I suppose."
—You can be too! 🤣
"I really cannot say, because I am on the other side of the Ocean."
—You can be one anywhere!
"I do find accelerationism to be seductive, but I am not aware of even a single force that could govern after the government were to topple."
—Yes, exactly. Accelerationism is a careful-what-you-wish-for scenario.
I do think that the market anarchists and panarchists have the answer, though. Let people a) form their own polities and govern themselves as they see fit, and b) allow for the rise of private agencies to offer security and justice services to willing customers. And then c) a common law and common protocols would arise organically in the process of adjudicating inter-agency and inter-polity disputes.
What have I learned? I am still a revolutionary, but I've grown far more whimsical, ancient, and subversive. The Iliad or the Poem of Force influenced me as much as The Kingdom of God is Within You. In other words, they influenced me a lot. More than Nietzsche or Marx.
I am still politically engaged, but I've learned to relax and let history reveal itself to me. Whatever comes, I welcome it.
I don't know if you are a Christian or not Christopher. But I do know this...there are two kinds of spirits in the world that come out of religion. To be balanced you need to be both. However, the "Lamb of God" spirit dominates our culture. The effeminate. It has taken over our fellowship (churches) everywhere world wide. You show me to be one of those. Allegedly 3% of the people at the time of this countries "founding" fought the British. THREE PERCENT. The other 97% stayed home or were actively trying to dissuade those 3% from their mission. Those three percent make up the other spirit Christopher. The LION of JUDAH spirit. The spirit that went into the temple with a cat-o-nine whip and beat the money changers and tossed over their tables. That's who those 3% are like. I'm one. Unfortunately, mankind is disposed to suffer as long as evils are sufferable And when they reach the point where they no longer are...IT GET'S NASTY. And we are getting close Christopher, so while you go hide in a closet, me and the rest of the LIONS will be out there trying to get back the freedoms we've lost over the last 200 years for OURSELVES, OUR FAMILIES and YOU. I'm no doubt on a list. Ask me if I give a flying rats ass. https://www.courageouslion.us/p/i-just-want-to-be-left-alone
How do you “read between the lines” Christopher? What I am saying is that the post, from what I get from it has an effeminate tone to it. You basically “believe” that somehow man kind is going to go down a path where the powers that be and their enforcers are just going to leave you alone and everything will be hunky dory. Remember this..once a year. You are one of the very few on here that I feel a need to support. And I have read a LOT of your posts which gives me a very good idea of who you are. Or are you pretending to be someone you’re not in your posts? Are you a mixed martial artist master who will kick anyone’s ass that messes with you and your family? The whole IDEA behind voluntarism is great. The problem that I see is…HOW will it ever work when you have the parasites and their enforcers out there looking for a reason to kill you. Ask David Koresh when you get a chance. Or Bryan Malinowski, or Vicki Weaver, or Sammy Weaver…never mind…YOU CAN’T BECAUSE they were murdered by a system that we are going to have to deal with the same way every time in history it has been dealt with. And it’s not going to be nice. So while you try to convince everyone to be nice in the sandbox as we play here on Substack…good luck when the feet hit the road.
I am not sure whether you read the first piece in the series or not. In that, I make it quite clear that I believe that these bastards DESERVE to be overthrown. That the whole system does. I make it clear that I believe that a violent response IS morally justified. There is zero pacifism in my argument. Zero "violence is not the answer" whimpering. The arguments I go on to make are mostly practical. Can it work? Who would support it? Would it bring about the desired result, or would it be perverted (as most are)? Who would the targets be? EVERYONE who is exploiting us, including anyone who is paid by tax dollars? Just the architects of tyranny? WHO are the architects of tyranny, exactly? How will we know which from which? Who will stand between us and them if we can even identify them? I am trying to think it through very carefully and rationally.
I also use verbiage like "initiate" and "as a strategy." I am saying that I believe that it would not be wise to make STARTING a revolution our plan. That does not mean that people should not defend themselves.
I do, and will, make some moral arguments, but they aren't pacifist arguments.
I note that revolution might unfold anyway, and I do not criticize that. Again, it's about what plans that I myself can make. I am making a plan, and it is not a plan to start a revolution. I am offering one plan among many, for whatever it is worth. Others can do as they wish.
I will also, in the final installment, point out that the conservative temperament makes a breakout of revolution extremely unlikely. The left are violent all the time, and conservatives' response is more talk, more voting, more prayer, more calls for civility. That is the aggregate conservative temperament. Conservatives will act forcibly if the circumstances become extreme enough, but the evil bastards are using a boil-the-frog approach instead. In other words, they never overreach so far that it pushes conservatives to act. So the frog just keeps getting boiled. I am not going to martyr myself waiting for the minutemen to start marching, because they show zero signs that they're going to do that. Lefties get violent all the time. Conservatives occasionally don tricorne hats and talk about it, but they have no record of actually doing so.
Perhaps you missed all those arguments and are just popping in now. I understand that people don't have time to read everything. But I must admit I was disappointed to have your response be that I am engaged in effeminate cowardice, since that is just not what I am arguing.
Ooopppssss…pardon me Chris, while I get my foot out of my mouth. You are absolutely right. I didn’t read anything but this one and came to a conclusion that was in error. I do apologize and may even go back and delete my comment since it was based on my ignorance of what you wrote about in it’s totality. Really…a size 15 shoe getting stuck in your mouth isn’t fun, but hey, it’s out now and again, forgive me for spouting off nonsense that was based on my view of this particular post. I keep forgetting that you typically write a book and not a single post on any subject you delve into.
Please don't give it another thought. I share your righteous anger. I feel bursts of rage and the desire to take action against the very deserving targets of that rage. It's just that I have thought this through at great length, and in great detail, and I don't think it would work in the conventional ways that we tend to imagine.
Right, because who is the enemy?
Are we going to line up everyone and judge whether they deserve to live or not?

You know My suggestion... Obsolete Their tool to power.
Have you read Dune?
This was exactly the approach of the Fremen.
Their dream was to turn desert planet Arrakis into a green paradise.
A plan they were working on with all their might knowing they are building it for their grandchildren.
Yes, I have red Dune, and yes, exactly!
“And the only real act of rebellion will be to log off—to look away from the glowing feed and remember that the real world, the one outside your window, is still there. Quiet. Solid. Waiting for anyone brave enough to return to it.”

Did you read Matt Smith’s recent article about the coming (fake) civil war? https://open.substack.com/pub/smith/p/the-coming-fake-civil-war?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

I just read it. Very chilling. What do you think we ought to do about it?
It is very chilling b/c it could work, just like Covid. Some people still wear masks at stores where I live.
IDK. Unplugging seems to be the right idea, but how many of us will do that? The 2020s will become known as a real life Solomon Asch experiment.
IMO, our plan here—to develop a nation within nations, with its own national consciousness—is a strong option. Others may have different ideas, but that is mine, and I believe it can work.
I'm all ears, as one big eared polititan one said. Government rule is a total fail, for sure.
Thanks for all you do!
I have pretty big ears myself!
😆

I very much look forward to your input.
If you have separate plans, I would love to hear about those. I consider everyone fighting for freedom to be allies.
And if you have input on my plans, I am eager to hear that as well.

What translation did you read for "The Poem of Force"?
I think the point is generally of practical anarchism, a pacifist outlook. Some philosophy of evidence.
