Reverse engineering the right
I had learned a ton from the greats of talk radio. I learned from the activists around me—from fools and sages alike. But I needed to go deeper. I needed to start reading in depth. And perhaps most of all, I needed to think it all through for myself. I needed to justify—to prove to myself—that I had chosen the right ideology.
I began reading. Giants like Hayek, Friedman, Rothbard, and Sowell. Flamethrowers like Coulter and Levin. Histories from Schlaes and Churchill. Common Sense and The Federalist Papers. P.J. O’Rourke, Ayn Rand, Daniel Hannan, and on and on.
