Democratic Socialism, Building Happiness, and a 'Girl So Fair'
Escaping the 'darkest depths of Mordor' for #ThreeThoughtThursday
#1 — Always remember…“Democratic socialism” is not a thing.
A democratic socialist is just a socialist who has figured out that because socialism PRODUCES NOTHING, he must hijack free societies. So-called ‘capitalism’ produces the wealth that socialists then redistribute.
Just like the parasite needs the host, a democratic socialist needs to feed on capitalism, even as he works to destroy it. All their bluster about “democratic” socialism is cover for this basic, inescapable fact.
Democratic socialism is just socialism that has gotten more realistic, and more clever in its parasitism.
#2 — Building is better than fighting, fighting is better than kvetching, and kvetching is better than hiding.
We all know, more or less, that something is wrong. Some of us have even undergone the consciousness shift that tells us that the system itself is a problem.
But what to do we do then? Knowing all of this is likely to lead one to a black-pilled pit of despair.
Roughly speaking, four choices come to mind:
Ignore what we know and try to reclaim some blissful ignorance.
Keep talking about it, thinking about it, dwelling on it, picking at it…but do nothing about it.
Do something to fight it.
Build something better than it
It is very difficult to un-know what one knows. That means that #1 is unlikely to succeed.
Knowledge is good, but life gets better when one realizes what a trap #2 is.
#3 has possibilities.
But life really begins to improve when we realize that #4 is an option!
Let’s build together. It is the most effective choice, and it will produce the most happiness for each of us as individuals.
#3 — Gollum and Sauron palling around together?
I am, of course, delighted that Robert Plant’s lyrics were influenced by The Lord of the Rings. “Ramble On” is a great song, as are “Misty Mountain Hop” and “The Battle of Evermore.” Truly!
It did occur to me one day, however, that these lyrics don’t actually make much sense:
I get it. Goodness knows I imagined finding “The queen of all my dreams” in all sorts of obscure corners of Middle Earth when I was 11 years old.
However, just to completely geek out here…
There is little chance that anyone would meet “a girl so fair” just walking around “the darkest depths of Mordor.” And there is absolutely no chance that “Gollum and the Evil One” (Sauron, presumably) would be skulking around together doing anything…including creeping up upon and slipping away with random girls.
The girl in Mordor? Maybe.
Gollum and Sauron collaborating on a girl-stealing project? Nope.
You have to swim through some black knowing and drink some dregs. You have to lose your shoes in the muck and the rain :) But it's all for the one thing, which we just don't know yet. (or do we?) But that's the white part, the lightness. The hope, the dream, the beauty of all things: the inner knowing. I cannot see any other way than directly onward with crazy rest in-between and incredible work periods. I say accept the duality and take excellent care of yourself. Collaborate like crazy. Share your resources, give people seeds. Celebrate, rise! Learn new things, ask dumb questions. Wonder about yourself, be annoyed with yourself. Change your habits. Be vulnerable. Kick ass. Rest :) You need to see your worth and your value and realize how much others are valued and needed as well. Everyone is here for a reason. Don't worry about the small stuff. It's a passing irritation on a much grander scale. Forgive yourself and others. I say we just stick with #4; most of the people I know haven't even "chosen" to be blissfully ignorant. They believe their "govern" "mente". But I would like to say this on their behalf; it's just not right what has been done to society. But we are bigger than they are with all their "pretend money". They just represent the worst of the one thing. It's our job to address that. We have something more profound to draw upon which doesn't even require that we look their way when we are making moves. What do we do? We create. We are creator humans. Happy Thursday.
Hilarious!! A girl-stealing project. 😂
#4!! All the way! 🙌🙌🙌
I think of it like a soup. (Society)
We want a better soup? Let’s use better ingredients. When the elements that comprise the soup have been grown in fertile toxic-free soil that nourishes them to full tasty ripeness....well, then you have a delicious, harmonious and flavourful soup. The distinct characteristics of the carrot, and onion and potato are honoured as they blend together to create a soup that is better than the sum of all its parts. I’m gonna go have a good day of ripening myself. 🥕
