We Are Stuck in an Algorithm Ghetto.
How do we get out?
Back when I launched our #FreedomMusicFriday feature, I noted something that is likely obvious to most of you. When it comes to music with a political or philosophical message, most of it comes from a leftist-statist perspective. The freedom movement has a lot of catching up to do in terms of producing good art.
As a result, we cannot always find songs with freedom-oriented messages written by artists who are consciously classical-liberal in their orientation.
Sometimes, we have to adapt a song. We hear a lyric or a vibe, and we extract a freedom message from it, even though the artist did not really intend us to do so.
Sometimes, we must adopt a song. The message is there, but the artist is coming from a different perspective than ours. That’s fine—we can hear a song however we want.
Ideally, we want homegrown music: music with genuine freedom messages written by people in the freedom movement. Those are fewer and further between, and it’s always a pleasure when I get to post one.
And it’s an even greater pleasure when it’s a colleague here on Substack.
Many of Tesstamona’s songs include mind-expanding messages of freedom, and they’re definitely homegrown. Algorithm Ghetto is a powerful song with a powerful complaint. I could spend the next hour parsing the lyrics, but there’s no need. You’ll get it.
We all get it, because we’ve been living it. The big question is…
How do we get out of it?

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this. And a large question indeed - how do we get out of it? I answered that to the best of my current conscious ability in the album which will be out in a few months -- but in short... there's a saying that goes "there can be no resistance without resilience" -- I think individual healing must take place, then within immediate community, then expanding out from there.
We have become weak as a people because we've become disconnected and unhealthy -- once we are connected, i think this system collapses either through direct coordinated resistance or people opting out and doing their own thing (i.e. voluntaryist societies) perhaps it'll be a mix of both.
Either way.. I think we're going to live to see it because we've been living through it. ❤️ thank you for sharing this song, it's an honor!!! and thank you for the work you. do.
